A monadic concept test is a type of concept test to compare and evaluate new product concepts. In this test style, you’ll upload multiple concepts - but each participant will only see one concept, in isolation. Showing only 1 concept to each participant minimizes the noise and potential bias that comes from showing multiple concepts in quick succession, and allows participants to give more detailed feedback than they might in a longer survey. And with Sprig’s ability to embed URLs and Figma Prototypes, participants can quickly examine your concepts with minimal friction.
Our template uses randomized skip logic to make sure your concepts are tested without bias. Monadic testing works best with a sample size of at least 100 participants per concept – we recommend keeping the test live until every group hits your team’s minimum quota.
Monadic testing can yield powerful insights about the comparative appeal, clarity, and ease of use of the concepts you’re considering. Use Sprig’s number scale analysis to compare the ratings of each of your concept branches, and let the AI-driven qualitative analysis tools summarize the relative strengths and weaknesses of each concept. With these tools in hand, your teams can make more informed decisions about which concept resonates most and which to take back to the drawing board.
