A feature adoption survey is a great tool in a researchers’ toolbelt to get at the ‘why’ of user adoption metrics after a new feature or tool release. Our survey template targets three user groups: those who have adopted and used the feature, those who tried it and dropped off, and those who were exposed to the feature but chose not to try it at all. Adopters are asked what their initial expectations and motivations were when trying the feature, what current use cases stand out to them, and what value it adds. For non-adopters, the survey explores disappointments and barriers to continued use.
This survey is a great mixed-methods deep dive into the motivations behind adoption metrics. Researchers can also pair with Sprig’s in-context feature satisfaction surveys to get more in-the-moment feedback on a new release, or run a Replay to see how a particular feature is being used. Combined, researchers can get a comprehensive picture of what’s driving engagement and what’s causing friction. Use insights from this survey to inform rollout strategy, improve discoverability, refine messaging, tailor onboarding flows, and more.
