Sprig is excited to announce that Bay Area angel investor, advisor, and startup mentor Bobby Lo has officially joined Sprig as a member of our board.
Bobby’s relationship with Sprig goes back to our very beginnings. He was an early investor in Sprig, confident in the mission that Sprig founder and CEO Ryan Glasgow set out to accomplish. He has served in an advisor capacity, as he does for other startups across industries, offering his expertise on product design, strategy, and fundraising.
But his connection goes back even further than Sprig day one. Ryan has had the privilege of knowing and working with Bobby for 12 years. They first met when Bobby hired him as a product manager and the second employee of Vurb. Together, they spent long days and late nights building a mobile search and messaging app that caught the attention of some of the biggest players in the industry — and was acquired by Snap five year after its founding. Bobby remained with Snap following the acquisition, where he led product and partnerships.
“Working with Bobby was a crash course in learning from the best. He is one of the foremost leaders in scaling and operating companies, and his stamp of approval as an early investor in Sprig was an incredible vote of confidence. He’s offered his expertise from day one as an advisor and believes in the mission and what we’re building,” said Ryan.
Bobby’s interest in the tech world and building successful products started when he was just 15, when he built his first software company from his parents’ home. Bobby went on to earn degrees from MIT in Computer Science and MIT Sloan in Management, and was a consultant with Boston Consulting Group focusing on consumer, travel, and tech. He also was the founding CTO of Yodle, a search ads company which was acquired by Web.com. And now we’re fortunate to add Sprig to his list of accomplishments.
“I’ve seen the power of Sprig first hand and I’m thrilled to join as a board member to be an even more integral part of this product journey,” said Bobby.
"What excites me most is the opportunity to build the next generation of innovative products through a deep understanding of users. Ryan and I share that mission.”
