What is Segment?
Segment is a Customer Data Platform (CDP) that simplifies the process of collecting, unifying, and connecting first-party customer data from your products to your tools. You can also enrich your data by aggregating it from all sources, so that you can monitor performance, inform decision-making, and create uniquely customized user experiences.

By now, we all understand the importance of micro-surveys during the product development process. But your efforts will go to waste if your data is inaccurate or inaccessible.
The power of UserLeap surveys comes from being able to surface the questions you desperately need answers to during timely moments and with the groups of users that you’d like to better understand (ie. new users, premium plan subscribers, churned customers).
With UserLeap + Segment, that’s now possible. We’re happy to announce this partnership with Segment that makes us a Destination for your data pipeline, so that it’s easier than ever to understand your customers.
How it works
With no changes to your code, and just a few clicks, you can start sending user attributes and events from Segment to UserLeap.
If you have UserLeap installed
Integrating with Segment gives you instant access to any user attributes or events to use in targeting surveys on any platform (web, email, or link).
If you’re new to UserLeap
Integrating with Segment means you can immediately launch targeted email and link surveys to your users based on their user profiles or behavior in your product.
For an even more powerful integration, you can install our Web, iOS, Android, or React Native SDK in minutes and bring in-product microsurveys into your experience.
Setting up UserLeap as a Destination takes five easy steps:
- From the Destinations catalog page in the Segment App, click Add Destination.
- Search for “UserLeap” in the Destinations Catalog, and select the UserLeap destination.
- Choose which Source should send data to the UserLeap destination.
- Go to the UserLeap dashboard, find and copy the API key.
- Enter the UserLeap API Key that you copied in the UserLeap destination settings in Segment.
Note: UserLeap’s Segment integration does not support In-Product Surveys
And that’s it! You’re all setup with the Segment integration and ready to gain clarity into customer insights, drive growth, and build delightful product experiences.
