See Ya CFLs:

Recycle used CFLs at your local Home Depot, IKEA or check Earth911.org for drop-off locations in your zip code. If your state permits you to put used or broken CFLs in the garbage, seal the bulb in two plastic bags and put it in the outside trash. Don't incinerate, as CFLs contain a small amount of toxic mercury, an average of about 5 milligrams, which would get released into the air.

Nellie Mckay, Vegan Vintage Songstress

If you took Judy Garland and Amy Sedaris and squished them together you might get something original and beautiful like Nellie McKay. She's a songbird of another era with the rare gift of playing the ukulele, the piano and your heartstrings. Sprig's Jennifer Prediger sat down with Nellie to talk about being vegan, buying vintage and the miraculous things you can do with a scarf.—Shot and edited by Brit Liggett
